my mom's sambal tempoyak

I know most people eat tempoyak raw. Some will mix the tempoyak with cilipadi. There also those who love masak asam tempoyak or masak tempoyak with all the veggies in it. Well i love my mum's sambal tempoyak. It is super easy to make but very tasty. U only need some chillies (big n small), some shallots n tempoyak, turmeric leaf n salt n sugar. And some dried anchovies. How to cook? So easy. U mix n blend chillies, shallots and tempoyak together (the quantity depends on how spicy or how sour u want ur sambal to be. Normally for a dish for 4 people i use a tablespoon of tempoyak, 2 big chillies n 5 small ones n about 2 shallots. Heat the wok, Fry around a handful of dry anchovies drop in the sambal mixture and mix with the anchovies. Put on the turmeric leaf as well. If its too thick add some water. Make sure it is not too watery. Cook n simmer till it has the right consistency, put some sugar n salt to taste. N it is done. Can't wait to taste. Published with Blogger-droi...

If you want chocolate cake, just add around 1/4 cup of cocoa powder mixed with some water. If u love orange cake you can have 1/2 cup of orange juice. If you want to modify the cake, it would be up to you since so far the recipe is quite flexible. As to how to put things together, like other cake u need to beat butter n sugar first, then eggs n flour bit by bit, lastly the vanilla essence n the flavoring. Bake for around 45 minutes in 180 degrees celcius oven (less if you are making...
